Sony gives its PS5 a Wolverine makeover with matching controllers

Sony is giving PlayStation fans another reason to open their wallets, with a new Marvel’s Wolverine-themed PS5 bundle and a matching lineup of limited-edition accessories launching alongside Insomniac Games’ highly anticipated Wolverine game later this year.

The centerpiece is the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition - Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle, which takes inspiration from Wolverine’s classic black-and-yellow costume. The console features a comics-inspired design created by Insomniac Games in collaboration with Scottish graphic artist Jock, while a matching DualSense controller comes with its own claw-marked design.

The Battle Yellow look won’t be limited to the new console, either. Sony is also releasing matching covers for the standard PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro. Fans who prefer something a little more metallic can instead pick up Adamantium-themed versions of the PS5 Pro covers and DualSense controller, inspired by the metal bonded to Logan’s skeleton.

Preorders for the limited-edition PS5, Battle Yellow DualSense, and console covers open August 19. The PS5 and Battle Yellow controller will be sold through Sony Direct and select retailers, while the Adamantium accessories and console covers will be exclusive to Sony Direct.

Everything is scheduled to launch on September 15, the same day Marvel’s Wolverine arrives on PS5. Given how quickly previous PlayStation limited editions have disappeared, these could be particularly difficult to find once preorders go live. Whether you prefer the classic Battle Yellow look or the more understated Adamantium theme, these accessories could quickly become collector’s items once supplies run out.
