Logitech Yeti 2 updates the classic USB mic with AI and smarter sensor

Logitech is bringing one of the most recognizable USB microphones back for a modern redesign. The new Yeti 2 reimagines the original Blue Yeti, which first launched in 2009 and became a familiar choice among streamers, podcasters and home-recording enthusiasts. Rather than simply updating the aging design with a newer connector, Logitech has added AI-powered processing, a 3D voice proximity sensor and an unusual little digital Yeti mascot.

The Yeti 2's main feature is its intelligent 3D voice proximity sensor, which is designed to keep your voice consistent even when you move around during a recording. The microphone can track where you're speaking from and automatically adjust gain, EQ and even its pickup pattern to compensate for changes in your position.

Logitech has also added AI-powered noise reduction to suppress unwanted sounds such as keyboard clicks, computer fans and background noise. Blue Voice processing now runs directly on the microphone, while Logitech G Hub provides additional controls for users who want to fine-tune their setup.

On the front is a 1.3-inch color display that provides audio information and gives users access to important settings without having to open software. The screen also features a pixel-art Yeti that reacts to your microphone levels, appearing happy when everything is fine, becoming angry when you're clipping and falling asleep when the microphone is muted. Users who aren't particularly interested in the mascot can replace it with custom avatars through G Hub.

The hardware has received a substantial overhaul as well. The Yeti 2 uses a redesigned three-capsule array, supports 24-bit/48kHz recording and offers multiple directional modes, while a 3.5mm headphone output provides direct monitoring. A capacitive mute button, physical control dial and five onboard presets are also included.

USB-C finally replaces the original Yeti's older connector, bringing the microphone more in line with modern PC setups. Logitech's approach is clearly focused on reducing the amount of manual adjustment required from users, particularly those who aren't always sitting in exactly the same position.

The Logitech Yeti 2 is now available for $159.99 / €159.99 / £139.99. It joins Logitech's latest wave of gaming and creator hardware, including the Pro X3 Superstrike mouse with HITS haptic switches, Pro X3 Lightspeed headset and Pro X2 Rapid magnetic gaming keyboard.
