End of Dragons accelerates Guild Wars 2's growth
Guild Wars 2 has established itself as one of the most popular MMORPGs, and it continues to grow despite the release of new expansions for its competitors. ArenaNet's creation seems to attract a different type of player than Final Fantasy XIV and World of Warcraft. Its distinct gameplay style that veers away from the holy tank-healer-dps trinity that is the base from most of the titles in the genre is quite appealing to many players, but the game offers much more. A vast world to explore, an exciting storyline, and fast-paced combat are just the tip of the iceberg.
The End of Dragons expansion has added a new continent to explore and even more features to the game, and it has arrived at the right moment.
ArenaNet has delved into the game's future in a publication on the official website of the game. The studio has revealed several interesting facts about the growth of the game, which keeps steadily expanding its player base.
"We're seeing incredible growth in the community. In fact, the number of active Guild Wars 2 players has more than doubled over the last three years. This growth has helped Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons outsell our previous expansion, Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire."
With such a progression and an expansion full of content that has just been released, the studio is already thinking about the path ahead of them and how to improve its game in the future. Support for DirectX11 will be one of the main features coming to the game, and it should provide some improvement to the graphics. The studio is also planning to launch Guild Wars 2 on Steam this year. When it comes to content, ArenaNet plans to bring back Living World Season 1 as a permanent addition to the mission journal in the game, and it will be available to all players, including free-to-play accounts. The player versus Player environment will also be subject to changes, with WvW being restructured into a more accessible system with better matchmaking and rewards.
All these changes and more will arrive through several updates during the next three months. You can visit the Guild Wars 2 website for more info about the specific content and release date for each of them, but we will keep you informed about any novelties.
If you are yet to discover Guild Wars 2, remember that the base game is free to play, and you can expand it with its latest expansion and more. You can get your Guild Wars 2: End of Dragons code at the best price on our comparator.
