Diablo II: Resurrected resumes its testing this weekend

It's rather curious that the biggest announcement at this year's Blizzcon is about an old game instead of bringing a new title into the spotlight. Well, technically Diablo II: Resurrected is a new game but as far as we know, it won't bring many novelties in terms of content compared to the old Diablo II, so it's just the same game with a new skin. It's true that it will include new features like cross-platform progression, revamped ladder seasons, a redesigned user interface, and an expanded stash to reduce any storage problems, but so far Blizzard has not revealed anything in the lines of new bosses, enemies, or additional mechanics.

Those seasoned played that followed the story of the Dark Wanderer and saved the world of Tristram from becoming a new Hell in the past, will have the opportunity of experiencing an epic storyline again from scratch, this time with the classes and content from Lord of Destruction too, as they are included in Diablo II: Resurrected too. But one of the most anticipated features of the new version is the cooperative multiplayer mode, which will allow 8 players and their mercenaries to battle together against the denizens of the Burning Hells.

If you are interested in trying Diablo II: Resurrected ahead of its launch, you should visit the official website of the game and opt-in for the alpha. A new one will take place this weekend and it will allow all participants to play through the first two acts of the game. Three different classes will be available during this testing phase, the Sorceress, the Barbarian, and the Amazon. Although there will be no level cap and you will be able to play to your heart's content as long as the beta lasts if you get an invite, sharing the fun with other participants won't be possible as the only single-player mode will be activated.
