Dead by Daylight gets a Resident Evil crossover

Behaviour Interactive has unveiled an exciting new crossover event for its horror multiplayer game, Dead by Daylight, partnering with the iconic Resident Evil franchise. This collaboration, set to run from February 10 to February 25, promises to enrich the gaming experience by introducing legendary characters, a new map, and unique gameplay mechanics.

This time, Resident Evil content comes to the 2v8 mode in this update, allowing players to control iconic killers such as Nemesis and the Mastermind, as well as a variety of other characters and legendary outfits. The setting for this event will be the Raccoon City Police Department, a pivotal location within Resident Evil 2. Players will be pleased to know that all characters introduced in the crossover will be free to play until the event concludes.

A new mechanic in the crossover

One of the standout features of this crossover is the introduction of an infection mechanic. Both Nemesis and the Mastermind possess unique powers enabling them to infect survivors. Survivors can only be cured using a single antidote found in the Supply Crates. True to the Resident Evil legacy, Herbs, the primary healing items in the series, are introduced as a new mechanic in the crossover. various types of herbs will be available throughout the map. Each herb can heal a specific amount of damage, adding a classic survival element to the gameplay. Players will need to carefully locate and use these healing items to maintain their chances of survival. However, to balance the gameplay, killers will have the ability to destroy these herbs, creating an interesting cat-and-mouse dynamic.

Dead by Daylight has a history of successfully integrating various horror franchises, allowing it to capitalize on the rich storytelling and character that these universes present.
