Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War multiplayer and beta dates have been revealed

The confirmation of Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War as the next installment in the long-lived first-person shooting video games series has allowed developer Treyarch to start revealing information about the features present in the game. One of the things that players have been eagerly waiting to know about the game is what kind of content they can expect in the multiplayer mode and yesterday's reveal has shed some light on the details. The historical setting of Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War is perfect for a wide variety of maps and there are plenty of options available when it comes to multiplayer matches.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War won't be short of multiplayer maps to please the fans of the series. You will take part in combats that will take you to scenarios as varied as an ambush in Afghanistan, a salvage operation in a nuclear submarine in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean, the assault of a CIA safehouse in Moscow, or an intel-gathering operation in the desert of Angola. All those maps and more can be played in several different gameplay modes that include some classic ones like Domination, Control, Kill and Destroy, or Team Deathmatch, but also new ones like VIP Escort, Fireteam, and Combined Arms.

As its name implies, VIP Escort is a 6v6 mode that will require you to escort a player designated as VIP to an extracting point. Fireteam is a massive battle that will pit four teams of 10 players against each other. Finally, Combined Arms is a 12v12 battle with vehicles.
