Bodycam Smashes Its Steam Record as Players Flock Back
Updates & Patches Industry

Bodycam has suddenly become one of Steam's most talked-about tactical shooters again. Reissad Studio's ultra-realistic FPS has reached a new all-time concurrent player record, showing that its community is not only surviving but growing significantly after months of relatively modest activity. The game hit 38,958 concurrent players on September 6, according to SteamDB, comfortably surpassing its previous record. That's an impressive turnaround for an Early Access title that had spent much of 2026 attracting only a fraction of that audience.

The resurgence comes after the arrival of the Locked & Loaded update, which gave players plenty of reasons to return. The update brought improvements across gameplay, audio, performance, stability and visual presentation, helping Bodycam once again capture the attention of the Steam crowd. What's particularly striking is the scale of the turnaround. Bodycam averaged fewer than 500 concurrent players during June and July, before beginning to pick up momentum in August. September has taken that growth to another level, with thousands of players now jumping into the game at the same time.

The Ultra-Realistic FPS Finds Its Audience

Bodycam has always had one major advantage over its competition: it looks unlike almost anything else on Steam. Built around the concept of recreating footage from a real body camera, the shooter uses Unreal Engine 5 to deliver an intentionally raw and highly realistic presentation. That visual identity has helped the game carve out its own niche. While it doesn't have the enormous player base or marketing budgets of blockbuster franchises such as Call of Duty and Battlefield, Bodycam appeals directly to players looking for something more grounded and tactical.

Its latest comeback suggests that audience is still very interested in what Reissad Studio is building The developers haven't needed a gigantic advertising campaign to bring players back. Instead, a big community is naturally following the evolution of the game in Early Access, demonstrating that the game has managed to catch the eye of many players. The latest spike has largely been driven by renewed interest in the game itself and the improvements delivered through its updates.

That's a valuable position for an Early Access game to reach. Instead of depending entirely on launch hype, Bodycam is proving that meaningful updates can bring lapsed players back while attracting a new audience at the same time. Of course, the real test will come after the excitement surrounding the latest update settles down. A record-breaking peak is impressive, but maintaining a healthy average player count is what ultimately matters for a multiplayer shooter. In any case, Bodycam still has enough time to introduce changes ahead of its launch and take into account the feedback from the community, which it's exactly the main point of Early Access.

If you are looking for an ultra-realistic FPS, this is the game for you, even though it may still change significantly in the future. We highly recommend to use our comparator in order to get a Bodycam Steam key at the best price.
