Blasphemous 2 is nothing like its predecessor

Blasphemous 2 is nothing like its predecessor

The original Blasphemous surprised many players with its dark and gothic scenarios and unique visual style inspired by elements of the Spanish religious culture. The story of The Penitent One and his fight against The Miracle have captivated a lot of fans that are eager to immerse in the recently-announced sequel to this Metroidvania platformer with Souls-like combat. Blasphemous 2 promises much more than a new adventure, and the guys from The Game Kitchen are very serious about making it significantly different from its predecessor whilekeeping the interest of the fans.

New weapons and more

In a recent interview, Blasphemous 2 producer David Erosa revealed some juicy details about the upcoming game. First of all, The Game Kitchen has created the game from scratch, even taking time to redesign all their tools for Blasphemous 2. This alone will set it apart from the first game in the series, but there is much more, especially when it comes to gameplay mechanics.

The Penitent One will have a wide arsenal at his disposal in the new game instead of having to stick to his sword. You will also be able to customize and develop his skill set in multiple ways to fit more varied gameplay styles. All these elements and more contribute to creating a different type of gameplay experience with new mechanics that boost the Metroidvania aspect of Blasphemous 2.
