Assassin's Creed Shadows can't leave controversy behind
Assassin's Creed Shadows has the dubious honour of being one of the most controversial releases in the popular series developed by Ubisoft. The current situation of the studio has impacted its development in several ways, forcing Ubisoft to delay the release of the game two times in order to polish it. Also, several controversies regarding the game's approach to Japan's history have generated some concerns in that country. Assassin's Creed Shadows has surpassed all those obstacles and now it travels swiftly towards its upcoming launch date. However, there seem to be more problems.
Massive leak
Physical copies of the game have been found to be sold on acution sites ahead of the game's release date and plenty of content has been leaked online. This includes gameplay footage that has been streamed on Twitch and other platforms, as well as scans of the game's artbook, and other material. This is quite unfortunate for those who want to enjoy the game when it's released on March 20 as the chances of receiving unwanted information about the game via the internet drastically increase. Ubisoft has done the only thing it can do, which is asking those with access to that content not to share it and recommending players that they try to avoid that kind of content for the following month. The studio has also stated that the final version of Assassin's Creed Shadows will be different from the leaked content as there are still patches that need to be implemented, most probably on launch day.

It's unfortunate, indeed, that Assassin's Creed Shadows doesn't seem able to leave controversy behind. Be it that the level of anticipation for the upcoming release is quite high or that picking on a studio that is currently having problems attracts haters like moths to a flame, all eyes seem to be on the game right now, and every little detail causes a commotion.
The harm is already done and if you want to enjoy Assassin's Creed Shadows in good faith the best you can do is try to ignore all the leaked content. If you can't decide about buying it or not, there are plenty of reviews on the internet that may help and more will surely come before the release date. In any case, you can rest assured that our comparator offers you the best deals to purchase Assassin's Creed Shadows on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
