Arkane’s Deathloop is free for one week on the Epic Games Store
The final week of the Epic Games Store's Mega Sale promotion is now here, which means the mystery giveaways will be wrapping up shortly as well. To conclude the event, Epic Games has brought in a major title from Bethesda, as the time loop adventure Deathloop from Arkane becomes the latest free game for PC players. In addition, indie title Ogu and the Secret Forest is also being offered for free.
Created by Arkane Lyon and published by Bethesda, Deathloop features an action-packed storyline filled with time travel elements. It takes place on the enigmatic island of Blackreef, where two rival assassins, Colt and Julianna, find themselves stuck in a time loop. Players, taking on the role of Colt, must discover how to eliminate eight targets in a single day in order to break free from the loop.
The assassinations can be carried out in various ways, whether through stealth, traps, accidents, or simply an all-out assault. Beyond gunplay, the game incorporates supernatural abilities similar to those found in the Dishonored series, allowing players to teleport, become invisible, use telekinesis, and more. There is also a multiplayer element, where players can take on the role of Julianna and invade others' campaigns, disrupting Colt's plans.
In regard to Ogu and the Secret Forest, this indie adventure, set for release in 2024, features hand-drawn characters and a variety of puzzles. The 2D game centers around befriending characters in a fantasy realm as baby Ogu, with ample opportunities for exploration, puzzle-solving, and boss battles.
Deathloop and Ogu and the Secret Forest are currently available for free on the Epic Games Store for all PC gamers. The promotion is expected to run until June 12, giving you a week to secure a copy for your library permanently.
Although the summer mystery giveaways are concluding, the Epic Games Store will continue to provide regular free games. After this promotion ends on Thursday, the next giveaway will be the humorous hospital simulation game Two Point Hospital, published by SEGA.
