An FCC filing revealed two new valuable features of the Nintendo Switch 2

The gaming community is buzzing over the latest revelations about the Nintendo Switch 2. Originally reported on by The Verge, while official details remain a mystery, filings from the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) have revealed two notable features of this next-generation gaming console.

The first highlight is the dual charging capability via USB-C ports. Switch 2 users can now charge the device from both the USB-C port at the bottom and a newly added port at the top. This feature maximizes convenience, allowing players to charge the console in any position.

Additionally, the Switch 2 is equipped with Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with a bandwidth of up to 80 MHz, promising faster download speeds and smoother online gaming experiences. Although Nintendo has yet to integrate Wi-Fi 6E or 7, this is still a significant upgrade from the Wi-Fi 5 used in the previous generation.

The FCC filing also confirms some familiar details, such as NFC reading capability via the right Joy-Con, ensuring compatibility with amiibo. Furthermore, the Switch 2 supports charging at 15V and 2.6A, even though the included power adapter has a capacity of up to 20V.

Leaks also indicate that the Switch 2 will be larger than the original Switch and will feature magnetically attached Joy-Cons with a "C" button and new trigger buttons. Nintendo has also confirmed that the device will be compatible with both physical and digital Switch games, though some titles may not be fully supported. Additionally, there will be exclusive games designed specifically for the Switch 2.
