Summer of Gaming: IGN reveals the schedule of the event
Admittedly this year we will not have E3, but that is not to say that we will have nothing to get our teeth into. A number of studios and publishers have already announced their events online, such as Electronic Arts with the EA Play which will take place on June 11, or Ubisoft which recently announced the Ubisoft Forward for July 12. But there are also other initiatives such as the Summer Game Fest, which brings together the two previously mentioned events, or Summer of Gaming which was announced by IGN.
Until now, we had no more details about the latter apart from the names of some of the companies joining the event. We know a little more today because IGN has just unveiled the program for Summer of Gaming which will be held from June 4 to 24. Spread over these 20 days, a number of different things will take place: game announcements, gameplay presentations, interviews, but also charity streams. This is, indeed, one of the objectives of the event, and these streams will make it possible to collect funds for the WHO 's fight against Covid-19.
Obviously, there won't be an announcement or presentation every single day, and there will be other kinds of events during the schedule, but there are some dates that you should mark on your calendar. The most important dates to remember are those when new games will be announced.
On June 5, three games will be announced, including one by Funcom / The Outsiders and another by the publisher Merge Games (Cloudpunk, Streets of Rage 4, Dead Cells ...), and a third one from an unrevealed game company.
On June 8, we will be able to discover another game from Merge Games which should be the return of a classic license, and another from the independent studio Fabraz.
June 18 will be the day of the discovery of an unknown game with an interview with its developers and a gameplay presentation.
On June 24, the return of another classic license will be announced.
During the Summer of Gaming, we will also be able to discover gameplay presentations or trailers of certain games like Remnant: From the Ashes, Everspace 2, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood, Chivalry 2, Wasteland 3, and many others.
