Garry's Mod uses a modified Source engine version of the Havok Physics Engine, which allows you to make various gadgets and objects that follow the laws of physics, which allows for the creation of some really realistic structures or even machines. This engine is really complex, so it takes a while to get used to the way the physics work in the game. Garry's Mod is a truly unique video game that's also not a video game per say.
