The fifth installment in the famous open-world action-adventure franchise, Assassin’s Creed III continues the story of Desmond Miles and his ancestors. In previous entries, Desmond relived the adventures of Altaïr and Ezio, assassin ancestors from the 12th and 15th centuries respectively. Through their stories, players discovered the extent of the Templar Order’s power, both in the past through their political and economic influence, and in the present through Abstergo, a pharmaceutical company that serves as their cover.

The first game introduced Desmond Miles, born in 1987 and the son of Assassins. Wanting to escape the isolated life of the Assassin Brotherhood, he ran away as a teenager and tried to live a normal life. His fate changed when he was discovered by a member of Abstergo. Captured and imprisoned, he was forced to use the Animus to relive the memories of his ancestors. As Altaïr during the Third Crusade, he uncovered the Templars’ true intentions: they seek powerful artifacts to control the global population.

In the second installment, Desmond manages to escape Abstergo and joins a hidden Assassin base using the Animus 2.0. Entering the machine again, he relives the life of Ezio during the Renaissance. Betrayed and driven by revenge, Ezio travels across cities such as Venice and Rome. Along the way, he discovers a powerful artifact and learns that a great threat looms over Earth, one that could lead to humanity’s destruction.

Assassin’s Creed III serves as the climax of this storyline. As the eternal conflict between Assassins and Templars intensifies, Earth faces a new danger. Humanity is on the brink of annihilation, and Desmond Miles, son of a key Assassin figure, must embrace his destiny in the battle against Abstergo Industries.

Using the Animus once more, Desmond relives the life of Connor Kenway, a Native American ancestor born to a Native mother and an English father. Set in 1775, the story unfolds during the American colonial era and the War of Independence led by the thirteen British colonies. Players will encounter historical figures such as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and the Frenchman Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette.

You will be able to explore cities like Boston and New York during events such as the Great Fire of 1776, as well as other key locations of the time, with environments that change throughout the seasons. Connor wields a bow, a pistol, and a tomahawk alongside his hidden blade. Players will discover vast areas to explore and hunt in. The game will test not only your skills as an assassin but also your seamanship, as naval battles are part of the experience.
