What I enjoy most is the feeling of constant progression. Each new area brings different enemies, new mechanics and more options to customize the party with jobs and passive skills. When I return to a previous area, the jump in power is noticeable without making the game any less fun, because there's always some secret, optional boss or hidden quest to discover. It's one of those RPGs that, when you look at the clock, three hours have passed and you just wanted to "do a quick dungeon".

The darker tone of the story seems to me a success. Although visually it has that charming 16-bit enhanced style, the themes it deals with are quite serious: betrayals, war, fanaticism, revenge... That makes me empathize more with the protagonist and some allies, who also carry their own traumas. There are scenes that surprised me because of how raw they are, and yet they fit very well in the whole, giving weight to the decisions and to each victory.

Octopath Traveler is, in a way, the worthy heir to Final Fantasy, with a really beautiful DA, cool gameplay and a good story. I'm not talking about the music, but I can't wait to be on vacation to play it!

I was surprised at how well it balances the "classic JRPG" feel with modern quality of life ideas. The fact that you can fast travel between cities, see the recommended level of the areas and manage the equipment in a clear way avoids a lot of useless farming. At the same time, it preserves the right difficulty in bosses and long dungeons that forces you to prepare well items, skills and group formation. It is one of those games that respect your time but do not give you everything for free.

The octopath traveler saga is finally back. I absolutely love the turn-based combat and can't wait to play this one. Graphically it is very enjoyable and I hope the story does not disappoint expectations

The soundtrack is of another level. Each region has its own theme, with melodies that stick with you without being heavy. In important fights, the music increases in intensity just when the boss changes phase or when you manage to break its shield, and that makes each turn seem more epic. Even in the quiet moments, like walking through a town or talking to NPCs, the pieces maintain a melancholic atmosphere that fits perfectly with the story of revenge and the fall of the kingdom.

One of the things I value most about Octopath Traveler 0 is that it lets me create my own protagonist. Being able to define his origin and his role within this great story makes me connect more with what happens. From there, recruiting characters with their own motivations and seeing how their paths cross is a delight. You can tell it comes from a mobile base, but here everything feels polished, long and with enough content to get lost for dozens of hours without getting repetitive.

Octopath Traveler 0 is a very good JRPG, seeking not only to deepen the universe of the series, but also to refine the formula. From the very first minutes, you can feel the developers' determination to get back to the basics: eight heroes, eight paths, and the strategic DNA that is the license's strength. As for the OST, it borders on excellence. It manages to revisit familiar motifs while introducing more audacious compositions, capable of accompanying both calmer phases and boss battles. The narrative is more interesting than in the previous opus, but some arcs are too classic. In terms of gameplay, it's just as effective as ever, and has been enriched with variations that encourage you to rethink your strategy, notably via certain skills and more progressive enemy weaknesses. However, despite these improvements, the combat is somewhat repetitive. Big negative: lack of translation

What I really like about Octopath Traveler 0 is the great freedom of progression. You can follow the main storyline, or get lost in side quests that develop the world, factions and personal histories of your companions. The game takes its time, but that's a given: the further you go, the more the mechanics are revealed, and the more you realize the richness of the system. For me, this is a generous JRPG, designed to be enjoyed over time and not simply consumed in a straight line.
