Dead by Daylight – A Nightmare on Elm Street brings one of horror’s most infamous villains into the realm of the Entity, adding Freddy Krueger as a terrifying new Killer. This DLC introduces Springwood as a haunting new map and Quentin Smith as a Survivor, expanding the game’s roster with chilling content inspired by the classic horror franchise.

As The Nightmare, Freddy brings a unique twist to gameplay with his Dream World mechanic. Survivors gradually fall asleep, making them vulnerable to his abilities, including teleporting between generators and attacking with his razor-sharp claws. Unlike traditional Killers, Freddy doesn’t chase in the same way—he slowly pulls victims into his twisted reality, forcing them to wake themselves up to stand a chance at escaping.

Quentin Smith, a determined and resourceful Survivor, comes equipped with perks that enhance his endurance and ability to stay awake longer, making him a strong choice against Freddy. Meanwhile, the Springwood map, inspired by Elm Street, creates an unsettling atmosphere, filled with eerie school hallways and darkened suburban streets.

With its nightmare-fueled gameplay, iconic characters, and a sinister new setting, A Nightmare on Elm Street adds a horrifying new dimension to Dead by Daylight, delivering a chilling challenge for both Killers and Survivors alike.

    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

How does Freddy's ability to pull survivors into the Dream World interact with the existing hooking mechanic?
Survivors are pulled into the Dream World before they are hooked. While in the Dream World, Freddy can damage them, and his other powers are active.
If a survivor is asleep and being chased by Freddy, what is the best way to wake up and escape his grasp?
The most reliable method is to fail a skill check or be healed by another survivor. Failing a skill check is usually faster.
Can survivors in the Dream World still interact with generators, and how does this affect the game's objectives?
Yes, survivors in the Dream World can still repair generators, but their actions are slowed. This introduces a strategic element, forcing choices when being chased.
What are the visual and auditory cues that indicate a survivor is entering or already within the Dream World?
The screen will begin to darken and a lullaby will start playing. Also, certain visual effects, such as a blurred vision, will accompany the transition.
Does the Dream World have any unique environmental hazards or advantages for either the survivors or Freddy?
The Dream World offers certain advantages to Freddy, allowing him to see survivors through walls and teleport to generators, adding an element of surprise.
How does the 'wake up' mechanic change the balance between the survivor and Freddy's abilities?
Waking up removes the debuffs associated with the Dream World, such as slower actions and Freddy's abilities, giving the survivors a chance to escape.
Can Freddy put multiple survivors in the Dream World simultaneously, and how does this impact his strategy?
Yes, Freddy can put multiple survivors in the Dream World. This allows for pressure on multiple objectives, making it more challenging for survivors.
Are there any items or perks that specifically interact with the Dream World or the 'wake up' mechanic?
Yes, certain perks and items can help survivors wake up faster, or provide benefits while they are asleep, affecting the gameplay dynamic.
How does the 'Dream Pallet' ability work, and what is the strategic implication for both sides?
Freddy can create fake pallets in the Dream World. These pallets are used to trick survivors and waste their time, enabling Freddy to gain advantage.
Does the presence of other killers in a custom game affect Freddy's unique powers or the Dream World mechanic?
In custom games, the presence of other killers does not interfere with Freddy's ability to put survivors in the Dream World.
