Welcome to the third episode of a grand strategy game set in space. Master of Orion 3 sets you as the leader of one of 16 civilizations. Your task is to become the greatest space-faring civilization of all, and to do that, you must be the first to reach the planet of Orion, discover its secrets, and gain supremacy over the rest of the universe!
Choose one of 16 unique races, each with a starting advantage. Will you play the diplomatic Humans? The technologically advanced Psilons? Or perhaps the crafty Imsaeis? Or the economically gifted Cynoids? The choice is yours.
No matter whom you choose, you must deal with the rest of the civilizations. Perform espionage to steal their research, make and break alliances as you deem fit, cause mayhem on enemy planets using subterfuge, and assassinate heads of state to sow chaos. If all else fails, you can always declare total war, building fleets of ships to attack your enemy.
Expand across a randomized galaxy where no two maps are ever the same. Search out fertile or mineral-rich planets and occupy them before the enemy can. Build a fleet and protect what you own. Only then can you conquer the galaxy in Master of Orion 3.
