A scene from SCUM, a survival game. A prisoner in orange clothing stands in a field looking out at a forest.

SCUM is an open world multiplayer online survival title that will place you as one of the inmates in the prison island of Bagne de Cayenne, a place where the second season of SCUM, the worldwide famous TV show from the TEC1, will have 64 prisoners fighting for their lives in a Hunger Games type of contest. The objective of the game is quite clear: you must survive and escape the island. But that won't be an easy task.

First of all, you will have to remove the implant placed on you that prevents you from escaping, nothing trivial if you consider that you start without any kind of resources in this contest. Finding the resources you will need to survive and to achieve your goals will be hard enough, but you will also have to plan your strategy. Will you focus on stealth to avoid conflict or maybe try to get as stronger as possible, using whatever firepower you can muster to fight against the other players? Whatever you do, the only rule is that you have to survive. Just remember that your main goal is to survive and escape the place.

Featuring unprecedented levels of character customization and detailed survival mechanics, SCUM aims to deliver the most real survival experience. Do you have what it takes to survive to this crazy and bloody show? Prove it taking part in SCUM!

    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

How does the game's metabolism system, encompassing vitamins, minerals, and calorie intake, directly impact a character's stamina and combat effectiveness?
A well-balanced metabolism, achieved through proper diet and supplementation, significantly boosts stamina regeneration and physical attributes like strength and endurance, making combat easier. Conversely, deficiencies lead to slower stamina regen, reduced carrying capacity, and increased vulnerability.
Explain how the game's procedural character creation, affecting body composition, influences a character's base stats, such as strength, agility, and intelligence.
The character creation process allows for customization of body types that affects starting base stats. A muscular build may provide higher base strength, but lower agility. Conversely, a thinner build may provide less strength, but increased agility.
How does the 'consciousness' mechanic, representing a character's awareness and sanity, affect interactions with other players and NPCs, and gameplay decision-making?
High consciousness levels facilitate clear communication and strategic thinking, while low levels can lead to paranoia, hallucinations, and impulsive actions. Players with low consciousness are more prone to misinterpreting situations, leading to altercations.
Describe the impact of different crafting skills on the quality and functionality of crafted items, and how skill progression influences these outcomes.
Higher crafting skills result in the creation of superior-quality items with improved durability, performance, and aesthetic features. Skill progression unlocks new blueprints and allows for more complex and efficient crafting techniques.
In what ways does the game's 'wounds and injuries' system, which includes bleeding, fractures, and infections, influence a character's mobility, combat performance, and long-term survival?
Wounds and injuries impair a character's movement, accuracy, and overall combat capabilities. Untreated injuries can lead to blood loss, infections, and even death, necessitating skillful medical care and resource management.
How does the 'base building' system, incorporating structural integrity and defense mechanisms, affect a player's ability to secure resources, defend against raids, and establish a sustainable presence?
Strong, well-defended bases provide shelter, storage, and a strategic advantage against other players. The integrity of the base's structure, along with the effectiveness of its defenses, determines its survivability against enemy attacks.
Explain the significance of the 'awareness' skill and its effect on a player's ability to detect threats, track other players, and gather environmental information.
A high awareness skill enhances a player's perception, enabling them to detect hidden dangers, hear approaching enemies, and identify valuable resources in the environment. It is crucial for avoiding ambushes and surviving in the wilderness.
How does the 'fame' and 'infamy' system, based on a player's actions and interactions, influence their standing within the game world, and the reactions of other players and NPCs?
Fame and infamy scores affect how other players and NPCs perceive and react to you. Gaining fame can attract allies and unlock opportunities, while high infamy may make you a target for bounty hunters or feared by others.
Describe the role of 'implantable skills' and 'character stats' in determining a character's progression, specialization, and overall effectiveness in various activities.
Implantable skills and character stats are essential for character customization. They enable specialization in areas such as combat, crafting, or survival, granting players unique abilities and advantages in specific gameplay aspects. They enhance a player's ability to progress and succeed.
How does the game's realistic physics engine, including factors like momentum and object weight, affect the player's movement, combat engagements, and the overall gameplay experience?
The physics engine influences every action, from running and climbing to firing a weapon. Realistic momentum and object weight add depth and realism to combat, movement, and item interaction, necessitating strategic planning and tactical awareness.
