    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Beyond direct damage, how can the 'Electrical Discharge' ability be used to manipulate the environment and enemies for strategic advantage in combat?
Electrical Discharge can be used to overload certain environmental objects, causing chain reactions that damage or stun multiple enemies. It can also temporarily disable robotic enemies or create electrical fields that impede enemy movement, allowing for crowd control or escape.
What is the core gameplay loop around managing 'Corruption' when using powerful Technomancer abilities, and what are the primary benefits and drawbacks of pushing your Corruption levels?
Using powerful Technomancer abilities generates Corruption. High Corruption unlocks more potent abilities and passive bonuses but also leads to negative mutations and potentially alters NPC interactions and story outcomes. The gameplay loop involves balancing the desire for power with the risk of detrimental side effects.
How does the 'Arcane Focus' mechanic, which governs the use of Technomancer spells, integrate with the game's dual-wielding combat system and when is it most beneficial to focus on one over the other?
Arcane Focus is a resource that replenishes over time and is spent to cast Technomancer spells. It directly competes with the stamina used for melee and ranged attacks. Players must strategically choose between conserving Focus for powerful spells, or expending it to fuel their offensive abilities, creating a dynamic combat rhythm between magical assaults and physical combat.
Can players 'imbue' their weapons with elemental effects derived from their Technomancer abilities, and if so, how does this temporary enchantment system impact different enemy resistances?
Yes, players can temporarily imbue their melee and ranged weapons with elemental effects, such as fire or electricity, by spending Arcane Focus. This is crucial for exploiting enemy weaknesses, as many enemies have specific resistances or vulnerabilities to certain elements, making it essential to adapt your weapon enchantments to the situation.
Describe the 'Mutations' system: how are they acquired, what are their gameplay implications both positive and negative, and can players actively control or mitigate their development?
Mutations are acquired through the use of powerful Technomancer abilities and exposure to certain environmental hazards, often linked to high Corruption levels. They offer powerful new passive or active abilities but can also come with significant drawbacks, such as reduced resistances or altered movement. Players can influence mutation development by choosing which abilities to use and by managing their Corruption, but some mutations are unavoidable consequences of power.
