Alternative takes on history have been a boon for all kinds of media, and video games are no exceptions. Exploring these "what if?" tales have provided many great games over the years, as well as provided interesting takes on gameplay. If you're looking to enjoy one of these alternative history games that have a unique gameplay structure, then you should check out Ironclad Tactics. For this game is set in a Steampunk version of the Civil War, and the only way to play is by getting cards and battling other characters in tests of strategy and skills. Just how Steampunk does Ironclad Tactics get? Well, there are giant steam-powered robots that you can control, how does that sound? As noted, Ironclad Tactics has you battle in card matches, where strategy and tactics have to be laid out quick in order to win. So think fast, and play the right card. Speaking of which, the game refuses to do microtransactions. They want you to be able to get all the cards that are available in the game without having to pay extra for them. So everyone is technically on an even playing field. Ironclad Tactics has three entirely different campaigns for you to play in, there's the main campaign of the game, then one called "Rise of Dmitry", and the other is "Blood and Ironclads." You'll find a graphic novel style story displayed to you for you to enjoy as you play. Plus, you can play with your friends in co-op mode, or battle against them in multiplayer matches. Choose your cards wisely, they'll decide your fate in battle.
