Sea of Stars latest DLC has been revealed

Sea of Stars's developer and publisher, Sabotage Studio, has confirmed the launch date for Throes of the Watchmaker, a free, entirely new quest that reunites protagonists Zale and Valere for an exciting new challenge. In this adventure, we will join the Solstice Warriors once again when Throes of the Watchmaker arrives May 20 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

Throes of the Watchmaker returns to one of the most intriguing characters encountered in Sea of Stars’ main adventure – the genius inventor known as the Watchmaker, architect of the Clockwork Castle and creator of Wheels, a tabletop pastime enjoyed throughout Sea of Stars’ world. The DLC explores a fascinating invention by the Watchmaker, the miniature clockwork world of Horloge, a land threatened by a cursed carnival. Zale and Valere must adapt to Horloge’s peculiar rules to fully realize their mastery of Sun and Moon powers, the abilities they’ve refined since the beginning of Sea of Stars’ central journey to stop the Fleshmancer with Eclipse Magic.

New playable classes and a new adventurer

For this adventure, both Valere and Zale get new playable classes. Zale uses his agility to become a Juggler, while Valere takes advantage of her balance to be an Acrobat. Tying into the circus theme of the DLC, both Zale and Valere unlock a completely new set of attacks, damage types, skills, and combos. The two Solstice Warriors will be joined by a new playable character named Arty—the Artificer. The friendly engineer robot unlocks the laser-shooting capabilities of his construct, helping Zale and Valere fight to save Horloge.

This DLC supports up to three players in local co-op and features synchronized traversal and combat mechanics introduced in the "Dawn of Equinox" update. Furthermore, Throes of the Watchmaker included new musical compositions by returning composer Eric W. Brown, with guest contributions from Yasunori Mitsuda, renowned for his work on Chrono Trigger. 

To embark on this adventure, players must have completed the main storyline up to the defeat of the Dweller of Dread in Seraï's world.
