Pillars of Eternity II is coming to consoles
Obsidian Entertainment managed to reinvent the wheel when they launched Pillars of Eternity. Tasked with the very complicated mission of creating a role-playing game inspired by one of the most popular games of all time, the developers managed to design a game that is both a spiritual successor of Baldur's Gate and completely different in the gameplay mechanics. The setting of Pillars of Eternity series has no relation with Dungeons and Dragons and the way the stat system works has absolutely nothing to do with the system used in the classic games.
Even though some players may have had some difficulty grasping the new concept, Obsidian has done a brilliant job creating a new universe that was a big hit among the fans of the genre. The original Pillars of Eternity was first followed by The White March expansion, which came in two parts that greatly expanded the content in the game. Later on, we would see Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, a sequel that continues the story in the first game, allowing us to explore a pirate-infested archipelago as we chase a revived God.
With new characters and plenty of lands and quests to discover, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is a worthy successor of the original game, and it was received very well by the players. There is even an Ultimate Edition that includes all the extra contents released for the game after it was launched, and this edition is exactly what the console players will be able to experience when Pillar of Eternity II: Deadfire is made available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 28, 2020. There is also a version for Nintendo Switch coming in the future, but no release date has been confirmed for it. Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is a very good way of quenching your thirst for good role-playing games while you wait to see what Baldur's Gate III has to offer, and you can find the best prices with our comparator.
