Metro 2039 every pre-orders editions explained

Metro 2039 pre-orders are open, and the headline item is something you can actually put on your head. Deep Silver and 4A Games confirmed the full edition breakdown on October 13, 2026, alongside a pre-order trailer. Pre-orders are live on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the PC version sold through Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game is reportedly set to release in February 2027.

What every pre-order includes

Every edition comes with the Metro 2039 Specialist Pack. It contains three blueprints that unlock three unique, swappable backpack upgrades early, so you start the game with an equipment head start.

The Deluxe Edition adds a post-launch Story Expansion DLC, with details still to come. Digital buyers also get a digital art book and the soundtrack, while the physical version includes an exclusive SteelBook, a hardback art book and premium packaging instead. At the top sits the Collector’s Edition, which has all of the physical Deluxe content plus a wearable replica Spartan Helmet, the item Deep Silver is billing as its headline piece. It’s modeled on the headgear worn by the Spartan Order rangers in the Metro series.

About the game

Metro 2039 is developed by 4A Games. The studio's Ukrainian team rebuilt the story entirely around their experience of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. It's the fourth mainline entry in the series and returns to the Moscow Metro after Metro Exodus took the franchise above ground in 2019. If you're still on the fence about pre-ordering, the gameplay trailer from Gamescom 2026 offers a closer look at the game.

With prices and the Story Expansion DLC details still to come, the early backpack upgrades are the only pre-order bonus that’s fully spelled out.
