MediEvil remake arrives in October
Exciting news for the loyal fans of the game, MediEvil will be released on October 25th! Sir Daniel Fortesque, the legendary knight with a toothy grin makes his return to the land of the living (and dead), and we can't wait to see his adventures again!
If by any chance you didn't know, MediEvil is an action-adventure hack and slash video game developed by Canadian studio Other Ocean Interactive and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 4. It is a remake of the 1998 PlayStation game, MediEvil. Before this new remake, another remake of the game with the name of MediEvil: Resurrection, was released on Sony's PlayStation Portable console in 2005. As you’ll see in the story trailer below, it looks substantially nicer now than when the game released in 1998. Even if you’re familiar with Dan’s first outing, everything you remember (and a lot that you don’t!) is back in ways that will make your head spin. In addition to a complete graphical overhaul, an improved camera system, and a brand-new narrator (brought to life by veteran voice actress Lani Minella) there is a whole basket full of secrets added to this PlayStation classic.
We first learned that MediEvil was being remade back in 2017. There was a first-look trailer last October, and now, during the PlayStation's State of Play live stream on last Thursday, we got to see the new trailer for the game. This time it is more focused on the new gameplay and we get to admire the numerous weapons shown – there are axes, clubs, spears, a bow-and-arrow, and several different varieties of swords in the trailer. The game focuses on the hack-and-slash combat against lots of supernatural enemies but it will keep in line with the original's folksy charm and humor. Whether you’re avoiding the boulder-spitting gargoyles of the Hilltop Mausoleum, outrunning the menacing farmers of the Scarecrow Fields, or fending off giant worker ants in the Ant Caves, Sir Dan’s certainly got his work cut out for him. We were also promised more news to come in June. The game will be a PS4 exclusive title.
