Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity gets ready for launch with a new video

Announced just over two months ago, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will arrive on Nintendo Switch tomorrow. Even though most players are mainly waiting for the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on Nintendo's hybrid console, this game that nobody really expected is still a nice surprise at the end of 2020, especially since it lets players know more about the story that preceded the events in Breath of the Wild.

As it usually happens with most video games, the imminent launch of the game comes accompanied by a launch trailer. In this case, Nintendo has published it and you can watch it below. Although the trailer doesn't reveal many new things about Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity if you compare it to the previous ones, it allows you to have a glimpse of the realm of Hyrule and the characters in the game.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity takes place 100 years before The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and covers the events that took place when Ganon appeared in the realm. In addition to Link, you can control Zelda, Impa, as well as the four prodigies, Urbosa, Mipha, Revali, and Daruk, but also divine creatures in certain phases of the game. Each character has his own abilities, and it will be possible to level them up by gaining combat experience. Although it fits in the same timeline and narrative as Breath of the Wild, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity has nothing to do with it in terms of gameplay. Far from being an open-world RPG, it is a hack 'n' slash game in which you fight hordes of enemies, which, admittedly, is quite exhilarating.

You can also make your own opinion about Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity because there is a free demo available on the Nintendo eshop which lets you play through the early stages of the game. It lasts approximately one hour and allows you to discover three of the characters, Link, Impa, and Zelda. If you have already completed the demo and are eagerly waiting for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, it will be available starting tomorrow.
