Hunter x Hunter: Nen Impact just got a new trailer

It can be said that this year is quite a great year for anime fans, with many anime games being released one after another. We have Sand Land, the upcomming Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, and now we're preparing to have a completely new adaptation game for one of the most beloved Shounen series, Hunter x Hunter.

Hunter X Hunter: Nen Impact is an upcoming 2D fighting game developed by Eighting and published by Bushiroad Games. They recently opened the official website for the game, revealing many details about playable characters, the combat system, and numerous in-game images.

We also got a new gameplay demo for Hunter X Hunter: Nen Impact. The game will feature 2D combat gameplay with 3-on-3 battles, very similar to the gameplay of Dragon Ball FighterZ and ULTIMATE MARVEL VS CAPCOM 3. Players will choose 3 characters for each battle, with each character having their own "assist" move. Players will control a main character and can freely switch between the three chosen characters.

Although there have been some complaints about the graphics and art style of the game being too bland, Hunter X Hunter: Nen Impact still looks like a decent 2D fighting game to try out. Since we haven't had many anime games of this genre recently, especially with the Hunter x Hunter name, and anyway, this is just a demo version, so these complaints could completely change in the future.

Familiar faces

Currently, we can see that six characters have been confirmed to be playable in the gameplay demo:

  • Gon
  • Killua
  • Leorio
  • Kurapika
  • Hisoka
  • Netero

In the future, there will surely be more characters added to the game, so let's wait and see. The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC.
