Hogwarts Legacy new trailer outlines DualSense features

Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Studios have released a new trailer for Hogwarts Legacy. The preview highlighted how the game will interact with the PlayStation 5's DualSense control and 3D Audio during gameplay.

As revealed on the official PlayStation blog, thanks to the new generation console's controls, spells will take advantage of adaptive triggers and haptic vibration, which has been limited to the right-hand side of the controller to make it feel like we are holding a real wand.

In addition, there will also be other types of sensations that allow players to immerse themselves in the magical world of Harry Potter, such as perceiving the impacts when a shield spell like Protego is used or increasing immersion, such as the inner light of the controller turning the color of the player's house, being green for Slytherin, blue for Ravenclaw, red for Gryffindor, and yellow for Hufflepuff.

DualSense's adaptive triggers and tactile feedback are not limited to just the casting of spells and wand sensations. It will also allow you to feel various other senses, such as kneading ingredients in Potions class, hearing a cry from a mandrake, or flying through the sky with either a broomstick or a hippogriff.

Visually, the player will also see Hogwarts and its surroundings in stunning 4K, according to the official blog. By choosing between "Fidelity" and "Performance" graphics modes, the game will allow you to create your custom experience, either by prioritizing a higher frame rate or visual fidelity.

PlayStation's Tempest 3D AudioTech will allow the player to be placed in Hogwarts with unique soundscapes to make you feel present. If playing without headphones, the DualSense speaker will produce additional immersive sounds.

Last but not least, the PlayStation 5's ultra-speed SSD will also provide fast loading times for players no matter how they decide to move, by broomstick or over the Floo Network fast travel network.
