Captain Tsubasa is one of the legendary anime series of the 90s, with a deep storyline and vivid visuals that were considered the most advanced of that time, recreating incredibly realistic moments on the football pitch. If you are a fan of this anime, a brand-new game titled: CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS inspired by that legendary series is set to be released on August 27th.

Experience high-speed football gameplay with a nostalgic vibe

CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS is the direct sequel to the previous anime/arcade-style football game, Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions, under development by TAMSOFT CORPORATION and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment!

The game will still retain the signature high-speed football gameplay style from its predecessor, rather than following a realistic football simulation approach. In this installment, the biggest highlight is the completely reworked confrontation mechanism between goalkeepers and forwards (goalkeeper vs. shooter duels). This mechanic is enhanced with brand-new tactical elements, along with superb saves and finishes (Super Moves/Super Shots) featuring spectacular cutscenes that closely follow the original source material.

Also, the scope of the game's content has been expanded. Along with 22 national teams, over 110 playable characters, more than 150 cutscenes, and over 100 energetic background music tracks, it promises to bring unforgettable emotions to players!

The game's storyline will continue from the previous installment and focus on the world youth tournament (World Youth Arc), where players will accompany Tsubasa to face fierce new rivals on the international stage.

The developer also introduced a new mode called NEW STARS ROUTE, which allows you to create your own custom player, join the Japan national team, and conquer the world championship alongside legendary characters.

CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS will feature a total of 3 game modes (single-player, online PvP, and shared/split-screen PvP/co-op), promising to bring incredibly wonderful experiences for you and your loved ones!

The development team has created a brand-new version that continues the legacy of Captain Tsubasa, while still being directly supervised by the original manga author—Yoichi Takahashi!

If you are a fan of games with high-speed football gameplay, as well as a long-time fan of the Captain Tsubasa series, then this game was absolutely made for you! Remember to use our comparison tool to pre-order CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS at the most favorable price!

I’m all about motorcycles, retro gaming, and the golden handheld era of the PSP and PS Vita. I love the thrill of the ride just as much as the nostalgia of classic games. I believe games can bring people together, spark creativity, and make the world a little brighter—one adventure at a time.

The game seems to be highly anticipated by fans. It promises more content, an improved story mode, and gameplay that's as spectacular as ever. The only reservations concern the technical aspects and the lack of major new features.

The announced content looks particularly generous with over 100 characters, numerous national teams, and several game modes. This is a solid foundation to keep players engaged for a long time, both in single-player and multiplayer modes.

Expanding the story of the Junior World Cup arc seems like a brilliant idea to me. It's one of the most beloved eras and offers plenty of material for future content.

Over 150 cinematics sounds like a lot of fan service, and I honestly think that's exactly what this type of game needs to shine.

It's such a pleasure to see Captain Tsubasa return with such ambition. The special techniques and completely over-the-top duels perfectly capture the feel of the anime. I hope to experience that same intensity once I have the controller in my hands.
