Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes shares a pre-launch trailer

Rabbit & Bear Studios and publisher 505 Games have released a four-minute pre-launch trailer for Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, the spiritual successor to Suikoden. The trailer showcases many heroes who will join the party and their allegiance. It also presented some mini-games featured in the JRPG, such as fishing and cooking, and one reminiscent of spinning-tops - like Beyblade. Lastly, it displayed the iconic stronghold where all the heroes will gather.

Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes' story begins in the corner of Allraan, a fabric of nations with diverse cultures and values. Through the sword and magical objects known as "rune-lenses," the history of the land has been shaped by the alliances and aggressions of humans, beastmen, elves, and desert dwellers who live there. The Galdean Empire has risen above other nations and discovered technology that amplifies rune-lenses' magic. Now, the Empire is scouring the continent for an artifact that will further expand its power.

On one of these expeditions, Seign Kesling and Nowa meet and become friends, leading the two protagonists into the crossfire of war in an intrigue that will challenge them to discover what is worthy and true from what is vile and treacherous.

Regarding gameplay, Eiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes mixes 2D character sprites with 3D backgrounds and monsters. Battles are turn-based and composed of up to six party members. If the participating members have any relationship with each other, it is possible to enable double, triple, or even more joint attacks, a system derived from Suikoden.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes was a Kickstarter project that broke records. The minimum amount to be raised was $500,000, but it exceeded and almost reached $5 million. As a result, the developer released the prequel Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, an action RPG with three protagonists who will also appear in Hundred Heroes.

The JRPG was created by the late Yoshitaka Murayama and his associate Junko Kawano. Both were responsible for directing the Suikoden series at Konami, which, coincidentally, will also return as a remaster in Suikoden I & II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is scheduled to be released on April 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
