Astral Chain shows 10 minutes of synergetic action
Astral Chain is an upcoming action RPG from PlatinumGames where players will take on alien creatures as members of Neuron, a special police task force in charge of the security in the multicultural megalopolis known as The Ark. The creators of Nier: Automata and Bayonetta bring us this new action-adventure that has taken elements from those both games to bring gameplay to a new level. In Astral Chain our character will be able to make use of living weapons known as Legion to help them solve cases, fight the aliens and close the portals that they are using to invade the city.
Your Legion has some skills that you can use out of combat to help you solving police cases but they can also be used in combat in many different ways. You will be connected to the Legion you are using by a special Chain that will allow you to control it, but that can also be used as a combat element to hit or entangle your opponents. The combat in Astral Chain is focused on the synergies between the character you are playing and the Legion it's using at the moment. Taking on multiple enemies will be possible and you may even come out unscathed if you are skillful enough and manage to coordinate your attacks properly to swiftly bring down your enemies. Since the time you can use your Legion in combat is limited you will need to learn to put it to the best use as fast as possible for maximum efficiency. This innovative combat system that lets you control two characters at the same time is shown and explained quite well in the new Astral Chain gameplay video that PlatinumGames has published, which also lets you understand a bit more of the mechanics in the game.
The release of Astral Chain is scheduled for August 30th exclusively on Nintendo Switch. You can check our comparator for the best prices.
