Radeon RX 9060 non‑XT debuts for 1080p budget gaming builds

AMD has officially introduced its Radeon RX 9060 graphics card, the latest addition to the company's RDNA 4 GPU series. This graphics card is built to run games at "Native 1080p Ultra Settings" and boasts specifications that are only marginally lower than those of AMD’s RX 9060 XT.

The Radeon RX 9060 is said to be restricted to "select system integrators." If this turns out to be the case, gamers won’t have the option to buy this new AMD RDNA 4 graphics card as an individual product.

AMD has yet to provide the complete specifications for the RX 9060, but it will utilize the same RDNA 4 architecture as the RX 9070 XT and the RX 9060 XT. This GPU contains 28 RDNA 4 compute units, reduced from the 32 found in the RX 9060 XT. In addition to its lower CU count, this new GPU also has lower GPU and memory clock speeds compared to the Radeon RX 9060 XT.

If clock speeds are similar to those of the RX 9060 XT, the RX 9060 could offer up to 22.43 TFLOPS of shader performance, which is a decrease of approximately 12.5% from the RX 9060 XT. It will come with 8GB of GDDR6 memory operating at unspecified speeds and will support FSR 4 upscaling.

The RX 9060 is categorized as an RDNA 4 graphics card. This means it supports RDNA 4-exclusive features, including AMD FSR 4, Radeon Image Sharpening 2, and others. It's important to note that AMD has not released an official MSRP for this graphics card. RX 9060 XT 8GB models are currently priced from about $250 to $300, depending on the seller, and an even more affordable RDNA 4 card could have been attractive. However, without an official MSRP, our understanding of how the RX 9060 would fit into the Radeon RX 9000-series lineup remains limited.
