8BitDo launches its Tomb Raider 30th anniversary controllers worldwide

8BitDo celebrates 30 years of Tomb Raider with new controllers now on sale

8BitDo has released two special-edition game controllers celebrating 30 years of Tomb Raider, giving its Ultimate 3 Controller for Xbox and Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad designs inspired by Lara Croft and the franchise’s history. Announced last month, both models are now available in the US, while UK buyers will have to wait until November.

The more expensive Ultimate 3 Controller for Xbox draws inspiration from Lara Croft’s evolving appearance throughout the series. It features a gold-colored shell decorated with silhouettes representing different versions of the iconic adventurer, contrasted by black controls and a gold zinc-alloy D-pad. Its matching charging dock continues the anniversary theme with Tomb Raider symbols and commemorative branding.

Meanwhile, the Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad takes its visual cues from the Lost Valley, one of the most memorable locations in the original 1996 game. The controller combines a sandstone-colored finish with vegetation details, ancient symbols, and geometric patterns. Its matching dock follows the same design, while interchangeable joystick caps provide additional customization.

Both editions build on 8BitDo’s existing controller designs rather than introducing entirely new hardware. That means buyers get familiar layouts and established gaming features alongside the collectible finishes and matching accessories. Fans who already own the standard versions, however, may find the anniversary designs more appealing than any functional upgrade.

The Ultimate 3 Controller for Xbox Tomb Raider 30th Anniversary Edition costs $119.99 / 109.99€ / £94.99, while the Pro 3 Bluetooth Gamepad anniversary edition is priced at $79.99 / 79.99€ / £74.99. Both can be purchased through 8BitDo’s official store and Amazon. UK availability is also confirmed through Amazon, but neither controller will arrive until November 13.

For Tomb Raider collectors, the themed finishes and matching docks offer a distinctive way to celebrate the franchise’s milestone. Those who care more about gameplay than appearance can still save money by choosing the standard controllers, particularly the Pro 3, which retains the core features of the anniversary edition.
