There's a free Splatoon 2 demo available on Nintendo Switch

Splatoon is one of the multiplayer video games favorite of the Nintendo consoles players. The original game became quite popular with its colorful graphics and incredibly fun gameplay but the release of its sequel only improved its main features with new additions that take full advantage of the Nintendo Switch capabilities. Splatoon 2 is a third-person shooter that pits Inklings and Octolings in multiplayer battles for extreme fun. They use colored ink as ammunition for their weapons and since the players can heal themselves and swim very fast through any surface covered with the ink of their color, shooting at any paintable surface can be used for tactical means. Splatoon 2 features several team-based multiplayer modes but it also includes the new Salmon run mode, in which four players cooperate to fend off hordes of enemies and collect fish eggs.

If you have not played Splatoon 2 yet and you are down for some multiplayer fun, you can now give a try to the game on your console. Nintendo has announced the launch of a Special Demo event for Splatoon 2 that starts today and will be available until May 6, 2020. All of the game's gameplay modes are available for free during the event. Players will be able to engage in cooperative battles in Salmon Run but also take part in Ranked Battle and Turf War matches. You have virtually no excuse to try the game and it's a very good opportunity of having fun with your kids if you are staying at home and you have a Nintendo Switch.

All you have to do to play Splatoon 2 is downloading the demo, which will allow you to play offline without a problem. If you want to play online with some friends you need to be subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online service though.
