Children of Morta receives a new character in a free update

Children of Morta is one of the best roguelike games recently released. With its pixel art style graphics the game narrates the story of the Bergson family. As the custodians of Mount Morta, these brave warriors have defended the mountain for quite a long time, and now they have to face a new threat that has invaded their homeland, The Corruption, an evil force that mutates everything that it touches turning the mountain in a very dark and dangerous place. Children of Morta is an action role-playing game in which you will play as some of the different members of the Bergson family. There are several characters available in the game, each of them with their own playstyle, weapons, and abilities. 

With procedurally generated dungeons to explore and a thrilling storyline, Children of Morta has more than enough content to keep you occupies for a while, but developer Dead Mage has just released a free update that adds a new character to the game among other things. She seems to be a very interesting character.

“Apan – known as Clan Mother in her homeland – came from the far north of Mount Morta. She is as skilled in providing vital support for companions on the battlefield as she is in wielding a sturdy staff. Her weapon’s reach makes Apan perfect for delivering deadly mid-range strikes, her special Asva Pulse dash ability leaves opponents hindered in the dust, and her spells cover a large area of effect. In defense, all of the Bergsons can take advantage of Apan’s medical knowledge as she also boosts the effects of healing potions, and a new mechanic lets the family gain shields from items, abilities, and Apan’s Rage skill. Simply put, Apan’s presence makes them all stronger, especially in battle."
