Designed by the creators of Magicka, The Showdown Effect is an action game where up to eight players can compete. The world of the game aims to pay tribute to the action films of the 80s/90s. To stick to these scenarios, several caricatured heroes are playable: the cop near to be retired, the westerner that has become a master of kung-fu, the brave knight... In this crazy world, the heroes can count on a variety of weapons, ranging from pizza cardboards to lightsabers. The gameplay of the game mixes platform and combat in a style which is reminiscent of the series of Smash Bros.
