    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the 'hint' feature to reveal the exact location of a hidden object, or does it only narrow down the search area?
The 'hint' feature provides a textual description and a visual clue of the object's general location. It doesn't pinpoint the exact spot, encouraging active searching within a defined area.
Does the environment react dynamically to my actions, such as objects moving or characters changing positions when I interact with certain elements?
The environments in Hidden Through Time are static in their core setup, but some elements might have subtle animations or interactable parts that react to the player's interaction.
Are all hidden objects always visible, or do some require triggering a specific action or sequence to become apparent?
Some hidden objects may become visible only after interacting with a part of the environment, such as moving an object or clicking on a specific trigger.
How does the game prevent players from accidentally 'cheating' by simply clicking randomly all over the map?
The game uses a scoring system that rewards accurate and quick identification of objects. There's no time penalty for clicks, but random clicking will greatly increase the time, which impacts the final score.
Can I zoom in and out to get a closer view of the environment and hidden objects?
Yes, players can zoom in and out to get a better view and navigate the levels, helping to spot objects and interact with the environment.
Does the game offer any form of in-game tutorial or guidance on how to identify objects?
The game often provides short descriptions or the names of the hidden objects, so that players can understand what they are looking for.
Is there a penalty for using hints, such as a score reduction?
While there's no direct score reduction for using hints, the overall score is impacted by the time taken to find the objects. Using hints might extend the time.
How are the levels structured, and is there a way to revisit completed levels?
Levels are designed to provide a rich experience, and players can revisit levels to find any missed objects or improve their scores.
Can I customize the objects I'm looking for in each level or do I have to search for the pre-defined list?
The list of hidden objects in each level is pre-defined to offer a consistent and structured gameplay experience.
Are there any levels with moving elements, such as trains or characters, that require precise timing to find hidden objects?
Some levels might incorporate moving elements or animations to add to the challenge, but these will not require any timing to find any hidden objects.
