Your screen is the heart of your gaming setup. It’s responsible for displaying the graphics generated by your PC, and its quality has a direct impact on your gaming experience.
There are many criteria to consider when choosing a screen, but the main ones are:
- Panel size: This refers to the diagonal length of the screen’s display area, measured in inches. The larger the number, the bigger the screen.
- Resolution: Simply put, this is the number of pixels the screen has. Today, the standard resolution is Full HD, which is 1920×1080 pixels. However, more and more screens now feature a resolution of 2560×1440 or 4K, which is 3840×2160.
- Framerate: This is the maximum number of frames the screen can display per second. The higher it is, the smoother the display. It’s sometimes referred to as FPS (Frames Per Second).
- Response time: This is the time it takes for a pixel to change color, measured in milliseconds (ms). The lower the number, the faster the screen transitions from one frame to another. For gaming, especially online gaming, it’s recommended to aim for a response time as close to 1ms as possible for a smoother gaming experience.
- Connectivity: The type of cables the screen supports to connect to your computer. This can include DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA, USB-C, etc.
24-inch screens are suitable for both office tasks and multimedia use. They’re also great for photo editing and gaming, allowing you to fully enjoy the graphics.
24 inches is approximately 61 cm, which means with a 16:9 aspect ratio, it gives you a panel that’s 53.1 cm wide and 29.9 cm tall, or 1587.9 cm² of display area.
