This Week's Video Game Releases - February 2026 (Week 8)

The second half of February brings a dense wave of video game releases, with nine titles arriving between February 16 and 22, 2026. Spanning tactical strategy, role-playing, stealth-action, simulation, and sci-fi survival, this week's lineup reflects the industry's continued appetite for both franchise expansions and original concepts.

February 16 - 22 releases

February 17 opens strongly with three distinct releases. NORSE: Oath of Blood transports players into a brutal Viking setting, combining turn-based combat systems with settlement-building mechanics and narrative-driven clan politics. On the same day, Under The Island delivers an exploration-focused experience centered on mystery and environmental storytelling. Strategy veterans also have reason to return to the battlefield with Age of Empires II: DE – The Last Chieftains, a new expansion for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition that expands the long-running RTS with additional civilizations and fresh historical campaigns.

The momentum continues on February 18 with a trio of stylistically varied launches. WiZmans World Re;Try revisits a cult-favorite Japanese RPG formula, blending retro-inspired presentation with updated mechanics. Weeny Wise offers a lighter-toned alternative, leaning into accessible design and compact challenges. Meanwhile, sci-fi fans can look toward Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown, which places players in command within the iconic Voyager era, emphasizing crew management, resource allocation, and high-stakes decision-making in deep space.

The week culminates on February 19 with its most anticipated title: Styx: Blades of Greed. The stealth-action sequel builds on the cult popularity of its predecessors, once again following the cunning goblin assassin Styx. Early impressions point to expanded vertical level design, refined infiltration mechanics, and greater player freedom in mission execution. Among this week's releases, it stands out as the headline act, generating the strongest pre-launch buzz from fans of tactical stealth gameplay.

Rounding out the week are two additional releases on February 19. Park Ranger Simulator shifts the tone toward management simulation, tasking players with maintaining natural reserves, overseeing wildlife systems, and balancing public access with conservation priorities. Completing the slate is Dead in Antares, a survival-oriented strategy title set in a hostile extraterrestrial environment where careful resource planning and team coordination are essential to survival.

Taken together, this week’s releases illustrate the breadth of today's gaming market: legacy franchises expanding their reach, niche genres receiving renewed attention, and ambitious stealth-action returning to the spotlight. For many players, however, February 19 will revolve around one question: whether Styx's latest adventure lives up to its growing reputation.
