The Callisto Protocol has a new game mode
Striking Distance Studio had plans to expand The Callisto Protocol with additional content long before the game was released. In fact, the studio talked about the DLCs that would be available for the game when the system requirements were revealed. This happened several weeks ahead of the release of the horror adventure. Back then, there was some controversy because some people understood that the studio was cutting down some content from the main game in order to sell it later as DLC.
A few months have passed and The Callisto Protocol has been playable for a while. The controversy is rather pointless now, as the developer has continued with its post-launch agenda. As a result, a new DLC for the game is available now, and it introduces several novelties, including a new game mode for The Callisto Protocol.
Contagion Mode
The Contagion Bundle is a DLC pack for The Callisto Protocol that adds the Watchtower Skin Collection, a set of skins to customize your character and make him look like a member of the United Jupiter Company. The expansion pack also includes fourteen new and spectacular death animations for Jacob. This can give you an idea of how dangerous it is to explore the Black Iron Prison. But the main addition coming to The Callisto Protocol with the DLC is a new gameplay mode: Contagion. In this mode, you will have to face toughened and more dangerous enemies with limited resources, and you can't manually save your game whenever you please. Instead, you will respawn at the beginning of the current chapter in your adventure if you die.
The new DLC is already available and it's included in The Callisto Protocol Season Pass. A second DLC with a new game mode, more death animations, and other surprises will be released later this year.
