SNK brings Fatal Fury back
There's no possible discussion about SNK being one of the most important fighting game developers. The Japanese company shined for many years with a plethora of titles that coped the first positions in all rankings for consoles like the Neo Geo. You could find arcade saloons full of its games exclusively, and many of the franchises created by the company have become a cult, with a legion of fans ready to jump into the action anytime. We all have heard of The King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown, which have seen a new life in modern versions of the classics in more recent years, with titles like The King of Fighters XV and the new Samurai Shodown. But one of SNK's flagship franchises has been missing for twenty years. Of course, we are talking about Fatal Fury, a legendary fighting series that will soon be back.
The return of a classic
The EVO is the biggest yearly fighting video game event. Not only does it host the most important championship, but it's also where to make all the relevant announcements, as all the fans of the genre have an eye on the event. Other than Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8, the most surprising news of this year comes from SNK, who has revealed that it's working on a new Fatal Fury game. The announcement includes a small teaser with a piece of art depicting the iconic Terry Bogard, one of the most iconic characters from the franchise. We have seen him appear in other fighting games after the last installment in the Fatal Fury series, which was released in 1999. SNK couldn't have picked a better character to announce the new game.

That said, the announcement leaves many questions behind. We don't know the title of the new Fatal Fury, when it will be released, or what platforms it will be available on. Hopefully, the announcement should open the door to a steady flow of information coming from the Japanese company that would be enough to satiate the fans' hunger for news in the coming months. We can't wait to know more about the new Fatal Fury and would love to see it as part of the EVO lineup next year.
