Nvidia’s upcoming RTX 50 SUPER cards detailed in fresh hardware leak
According to a new report from Moore’s Law Is Dead, Nvidia is preparing a refresh of its GeForce RTX 50-series lineup with several RTX 50 Super graphics cards. The rumored lineup includes the RTX 5080 Super, RTX 5070 Ti Super, RTX 5070 Super, and RTX 5060 Super (or RTX 5060 12GB), with launches currently expected in Q4 2026 or Q1 2027.
The most significant change across the lineup appears to be increased memory capacity. Nvidia is reportedly replacing its existing 2GB GDDR7 memory chips with 3GB chips, allowing most Super models to gain 50% more VRAM than their standard counterparts. This upgrade could be particularly valuable for lower-end cards, where memory limitations can impact performance in modern games.
While some of the refreshed GPUs retain the same CUDA core counts as the original RTX 50-series models, Nvidia is reportedly increasing power limits to enable higher sustained clock speeds. The RTX 5080 Super is also expected to receive faster GDDR7 memory, providing additional bandwidth and performance improvements.
Interestingly, Nvidia is said to be evaluating an RTX 5060 12GB model and has not yet finalized whether it will carry the Super branding. Since the leaked specifications do not indicate a higher power budget or additional CUDA cores, this version may offer little more than increased VRAM compared to the existing RTX 5060 8GB.
Among all the leaked cards, the RTX 5070 Super is reportedly the only model receiving an increase in CUDA core count. As a result, the RTX 50 Super refresh appears to focus primarily on memory upgrades and modest clock-speed increases rather than major architectural changes.

Pricing remains a major unknown. Even if Nvidia launches these cards at competitive MSRPs, availability could prove challenging depending on production volumes and market demand.
If these specifications prove accurate, Nvidia’s RTX 50 Super family will largely serve as a mid-generation refresh focused on addressing VRAM concerns while delivering moderate performance gains through higher clocks and power limits. The rumored release window also suggests that RTX 60-series graphics cards are unlikely to arrive before 2027.
