More evidence points to Persona 4 Remake as original voice cast speaks out
The long-rumored Persona 4 Remake appears more real than ever, thanks to recent comments from two of the game’s original voice actors. While Atlus has yet to officially confirm the title, the growing list of subtle—and not-so-subtle—hints makes it increasingly difficult to believe it’s anything but inevitable.
Old voice actors won't return for Persona 4 Remake
First, Yuri Lowenthal, the voice of Yosuke Hanamura, posted on Bluesky that he would not be returning for the remake. “I asked. Maybe I even begged,” Lowenthal wrote, “but they don’t want me to come back.” His statement strongly suggests that the project exists and is already deep into production—far enough along for Atlus to have made casting decisions. The post was later deleted.
Shortly after, Erin Fitzgerald—who voiced Chie Satonaka—added fuel to the fire by confirming that she, too, wasn’t approached to reprise her role in the remake. While fans are divided over the decision to recast, the larger takeaway is clear: Persona 4 Remake is likely well on its way.

These confirmations follow months of speculation, leaks, and domain registrations. Many fans believe Atlus is poised to unveil the game during the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase in June, with reports suggesting the title will launch as a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass—mirroring the rollout strategy of Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica. A multiplatform release across PC, PS5, and Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2 is also rumored.
With Persona 3 Reload receiving praise for its modernized visuals and accessibility improvements, expectations for a Persona 4 Remake are understandably high. The community sees it as the perfect bridge between classic and modern Persona titles—especially while fans continue to wait (and speculate) about Persona 6, which remains officially unannounced.
While we await Atlus’s next move, now is a great time to dive into Persona 3 Reload—especially for newer fans who want to experience the franchise’s roots with a fresh coat of paint. Make sure to use our price comparator to grab the best deal for Persona 3 Reload.
