The anniversary of the Mana series comes with the announcement of new games

Whether it is in the form of remasters or as new installments in long-running series, old video games are becoming a good source of inspiration to develop new titles. In the case of the Mana series, Square Enix has recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, and the event has been the perfect occasion to announce that they are still working on releasing new games based on the popular JRPG series. It seems that the fans will be able to continue having fun in the world of Mana very soon, since three different projects are currently in the works, one of them a game for consoles. 

Echoes of Mana is a new free-to-play action RPG that is coming to mobile devices. It's slated for release in 2022 and it will feature many characters from previous games in the series. Square Enix is taking the series to the TV too with Legend of Mana: The Teardrop Crystal, which is an anime series. Finally, the third surprise announcement made during the anniversary celebration is no other than a console game that has no title yet. Nothing has been said about its connection with the previous installments in the series, so we don't know yet if we will find characters from Legend of Mana, Secret of Mana, and Trials of Mana in it. It's quite likely that the new game features new characters and a brand new storyline, as well as the real-time battle system that has contributed to making the series so popular.

The fans of the Mana series will have to wait a bit longer to know more about the new game for consoles. Meanwhile, the latest remasters of the classic installments in the series should be enough to keep them busy until Square Enix decides to make an official announcement.
