Epic gives away a beat 'em up and classic point-and-click adventure
The Epic Games Store has refreshed its weekly giveaway once again, bringing two more games that PC players can claim and keep forever. With last week's RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition and Voidwrought promotion now over, Epic is replacing them with River City Girls 2 and the cult classic I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream. As always, you have seven days to add both games to your library permanently.
The older of the two is I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream, a point-and-click adventure based on Harlan Ellison's acclaimed short story of the same name. Set in a bleak post-apocalyptic future, the game follows the last five surviving humans, who have spent over a century being tormented by AM, a supercomputer that wiped out the rest of humanity. Players experience each character's twisted past through a series of psychological scenarios, with choices that ultimately shape their fate.
One of the game's biggest draws is its voice acting. Every line is fully voiced, and Harlan Ellison himself portrays the chilling AI antagonist, AM. Even decades after its original release, the game remains a memorable narrative adventure, blending moral dilemmas, psychological horror, and classic point-and-click puzzle solving into an experience that's still talked about today.
If you're after something with a little more action, River City Girls 2 delivers exactly that. The sequel reunites Misako and Kyoko as they punch, kick, and combo their way across a sprawling city in an effort to bring down the Sabu crime syndicate. The side-scrolling beat-'em-up expands on the original with a larger world, additional playable characters, new abilities, and local and online co-op support.
Combat has also received a noticeable upgrade, introducing mechanics such as guard breaks, aerial launch combos, and elemental attacks that add even more variety to the already chaotic brawling. As you progress, you'll level up your characters, unlock fresh moves, and tailor your fighting style to suit your preferred approach.
Both River City Girls 2 and I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream are free to claim through the Epic Games Store until July 9. Once the promotion ends, Epic will swap them out for another pair of giveaways, continuing its long-running weekly free games program.
