ASUS unveils SFF-ready RTX 4070 Ti SUPER PRIME with triple-fan AD102 GPU

During Computex 2024, Nvidia unveiled the specifications for their "SFF-Ready Enthusiast GeForce" GPUs, outlining size limitations for small-form-factor gaming graphics cards. In line with these specifications, ASUS introduced its initial series of PRIME GPUs, with variations ranging from the RTX 4060 Ti to the RTX 4070 SUPER. ASUS has now launched a new addition to its PRIME lineup, the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER model, which is the fastest small-form-factor (SFF) gaming GPU.

Nvidia's SFF-Ready GPU guidelines simplify the process for PC builders to ensure compatibility between their small form factor graphics cards and PC cases. If both GPUs are Nvidia SFF certified, they will function seamlessly together. However, the exclusive Nvidia-based nature of this standard presents certain limitations, as AMD and Intel GPUs are not eligible for "SFF-Ready Enthusiast GeForce" certification.

ASUS' RTX 4070 Ti SUPER PRIME graphics card features 8,448 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR6X memory. The GPU requires a 12V-2×6 power connector and is available in "Overclocked" and standard variants.

These cards are based on the AD102 GPU, with the visible 2x2 capacitor layout on the back of the card. The A102 differs slightly from the AD103 utilized in the original round of 4070 Ti Super boards. While AD102 consumes slightly more power, it is larger and offers significantly more processing power.

Regrettably, ASUS has not disclosed the pricing for their new PRIME series graphics card, nor have they provided specific availability details for this new model. Nevertheless, it is anticipated that this GPU will soon be available for purchase from retailers, as the RTX 40 series is approaching the end of its lifecycle.

This release could mark the final chapter for Ada Lovelace-based GPUs. Earlier this year, Nvidia announced its Blackwell architecture, which will first debut as an AI accelerator. However, there have been increasing leaks about the RTX 5080 and 5090 GPUs lately, suggesting that these cards are expected to arrive in 2025.
