ASUS expands its ROG gaming mouse range with the new Gladius IV Ace

ASUS Republic of Gamers has introduced the Gladius IV Ace, a new wireless gaming mouse designed for competitive players who prioritize precision, speed, and customization. Weighing just 56 grams in its default configuration, the mouse combines an adjustable weight system with a high-sensitivity optical sensor and an 8,000Hz wireless polling rate.

ASUS says the Gladius IV Ace's shape was refined through sports-science testing and repeated evaluations with esports players. The goal was to reduce muscle strain during the repetitive gripping, lifting, and rapid movements associated with competitive gaming. According to the company, testing showed that players maintained more consistent tracking speeds and acceleration after fatigue, spent less time off target, and achieved greater accuracy during 180-degree flicks.

The mouse weighs 56 grams with its center-balanced configuration, but users can customize its handling with the included 3g, 5g, and 7g stackable weights. These provide seven additional configurations to suit different preferences. ASUS also machine-tests every mouse to keep left- and right-click actuation forces within 5 gram-force of each other, helping deliver a consistent feel between the two main buttons.

For tracking, the Gladius IV Ace uses the ROG AimPoint Pro optical sensor, offering sensitivity of up to 65,000 DPI. ROG optical micro switches provide fast actuation and are rated for up to 100 million clicks. Wireless performance is another major selling point. ROG SpeedNova 8K Gen II supports an 8,000Hz polling rate and movement scanning at up to 20,000 frames per second, aiming to capture everything from fast flicks to subtle adjustments.

The enhanced receiver features a larger antenna, while Active Dynamic Hopping searches for suitable wireless channels to reduce interference. Dual status LEDs display radio-frequency information, and Dynamic TX Power Control adjusts transmission strength to improve connection reliability. Zone Mode also provides streamlined access to key competitive-gaming settings.

The ASUS ROG Gladius IV Ace is available through the official ASUS online store for $170 / €170 / £145. Its launch comes amid a wave of new gaming peripherals, with many big manufacturers also introducing high-end mice aimed at competitive players, such as the Razer Basilisk V4 Pro, SteelSeries Sensei Pro/Rival Pro, and Logitech Pro X3 Superstrike.
