Turn your ROG Ally into a home console with ASUS’s new Bulwark Dock

ASUS ROG introduces a new dock that gives Ally handhelds a console makeover

Handheld gaming PCs are becoming increasingly versatile, with accessories making it easier to switch between portable play and a traditional living-room setup. Although Nintendo initially popularized hybrid handheld gaming setups for mainstream players, numerous other tech companies have since introduced more diverse and powerful alternatives. ASUS is targeting that flexibility with the ROG Bulwark Dock DG310, a new 6-in-1 docking station designed for the ROG Xbox Ally family.

The dock connects to a compatible handheld through a single attached USB-C cable, adding the ports needed to connect a television, wired network, and external gaming accessories. Video output is one of its main attractions. The HDMI 2.1 connection supports resolutions up to 4K at 144Hz, alongside variable refresh rate, Auto Low Latency Mode, and HDR on compatible displays. ASUS also says that connecting the dock to supported smart TVs can trigger automatic Game Mode activation, helping reduce input latency during gameplay.

The DG310's connectivity extends beyond HDMI. It includes three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports for accessories such as controllers, keyboards, and mice, plus a Gigabit Ethernet port for wired networking. Its primary USB-C port accepts up to 100W of power input and delivers up to 80W to the connected handheld, allowing users to play while charging.

ASUS has also paid attention to how the dock accommodates the handheld itself. Its angled cradle is designed to leave the device's cooling vents unobstructed, while the permanently attached 60cm USB-C cable features a 90-degree connector that plugs into the top of the console.

Wireless accessories are catered for as well. A dedicated physical pairing button lets users initiate Bluetooth pairing for compatible headsets and controllers without navigating through system menus. The dock also features four selectable RGB lighting presets, adding a little customization to a desktop or entertainment-center setup.

With the Bulwark Dock DG310, ASUS is making its handhelds easier to integrate into a more conventional gaming environment. Players can keep their portable system and still connect it to a larger display with wired networking and additional peripherals, without having to purchase a separate gaming PC or console.

Priced at $99.99 / 99,99€ / £84.99, the dock offers a convenient way to expand the ROG Xbox Ally's connectivity, particularly for players who regularly move between handheld and television gaming. It also arrives at a timely moment, following the launch of the ROG Xbox Ally X20, the special edition celebrating the 20th anniversary of ASUS Republic of Gamers.
