ASUS debuts Tandem RGB OLED gaming monitors with blazing 480Hz support

ASUS’ new 4K gaming monitors combine Tandem RGB OLED and 480Hz performance

ASUS has officially launched two of its latest flagship OLED gaming monitors, making the ROG Swift OLED PG32UCWM and ROG Swift OLED PG27UCWM available at retail after first unveiling them several months ago.

Both monitors feature 4K OLED panels with ASUS' Dual Mode technology, allowing users to switch between 4K at 240Hz for maximum image quality or 1080p at 480Hz for ultra-fast competitive gaming. The standout feature is the adoption of True Tandem RGB OLED technology, paired with TrueBlack Glossy coating, promising higher brightness, improved color accuracy, and better longevity than previous OLED generations. Tandem OLED panels are quickly becoming the new standard for premium gaming displays thanks to their increased color volume and improved durability.

The PG32UCWM and PG27UCWM are virtually identical apart from their display sizes. The larger 32-inch model is aimed at gamers who want a more immersive experience, while the 27-inch version offers a higher pixel density for sharper text and finer detail. Both displays deliver up to 1,000 nits peak brightness and cover 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, making them suitable for both gaming and content creation.

To improve long-term reliability, ASUS has equipped both monitors with a GaNFET-based power supply, which the company says reduces heat generation by up to 35% while lowering vent temperatures by around 10%. They also include the latest Enhanced OLED Care Pro suite, featuring an Auto Away function and other burn-in prevention technologies designed to extend panel lifespan.

ASUS has also added new AI-powered controls through Display Control CLI and Agent Skill, allowing compatible voice assistants to change monitor settings using simple voice commands. Users can quickly switch between calibrated color profiles or enable the high-refresh-rate esports mode without navigating on-screen menus.

Connectivity is equally impressive, with DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 offering up to 80Gbps of bandwidth, alongside HDMI 2.1, USB Type-C with up to 90W Power Delivery, and additional USB connectivity. A single USB-C cable can handle video, data, and laptop charging simultaneously, making the monitors particularly attractive for hybrid work and gaming setups.

While ASUS has now officially released both monitors, the company has yet to announce regional pricing or availability details. As always, for the latest news on gaming monitors, display technologies, PC hardware launches, and developments across the gaming industry, be sure to follow our dedicated hardware coverage.
