Assassin's Creed Valhalla new expansion gets a release date

A lot of information about the upcoming expansion for Assassin's Creed Valhalla was leaked this weekend. Ubisoft had teased the announcement, but as it usually happens, insiders were faster and revealed that Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok will be the DLC following The Siege of Paris. It's just been a few days after the leak, but Ubisoft has already confirmed that most of the information in the leak was true with the official announcement of the expansion.

Dawn of Ragnarok will take Eivor to the mythical realm of Svartalfheim, a place inhabited by dwarves where the protagonist of Assassin's Creed Valhalla will embrace their destiny as Odin. Wielding the powers of the Norse god of Battle and Wisdom, you will embark on an epic quest to save your son, Baldr, who is held captive by the fire giants. The expansion will give you access to shapeshifting and elemental powers and allow you to explore a realm that is as beautiful as perilous. New types of enemies taken from Norse mythology will try to stop you on your way to face the mighty Surtr, a fire giant who is said to be unkillable. Dawn of Ragnarok will bring new gameplay mechanics, and it will allow you to imbue your weapons with fire and ice, among other things, which will open new possibilities in combat.

When will Dawn of Ragnarok launch?

Ubisoft has also confirmed that the release of the Dawn of Ragnarok expansion for Assassin's Creed Valhalla is scheduled for March 10, 2022. Of course, it's not a standalone expansion, so you will need to own the main game to access it.
