AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D packaging design unveiled: "The Ultimate Processor for Elite Gaming"
Yesterday, the first image of AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D box was revealed along with new details for the processor from Moore’s Law is Dead. Given that the box design has been finalized, it is evident that AMD is gearing up to introduce its initial X3D-enhanced Zen 5 processor. Speculations suggest that this CPU will be launched in 2024, with recent rumors pointing towards a November release.
The full specifications for this CPU remain unknown. Nonetheless, according to Moore’s Law is Dead, the CPU boasts “104MB” of Cache and is “optimized for higher frequencies”. This indicates that the 9800X3D will likely feature the same V-Cache capacity as the 7800X3D. The CPU’s enhanced clock design is expected to contribute to significant generational performance improvements in AMD’s new Zen 5 gaming CPU, in addition to any other advancements that Zen 5 brings.
AMD is reportedly promoting the new CPU as the “Ultimate Processor for Elite Gaming.” It is important to note that this CPU will hit the market after Intel’s Core Ultra 200K series, implying that unless AMD is unaware of Intel’s performance, the 9800X3D is poised to outperform its competitors in gaming. Additionally, AMD is said to be preparing a game promotion for this launch, potentially involving a bundle with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, although this has yet to be confirmed.
Overall, gamers have expressed disappointment with AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series. However, this sentiment may change with the introduction of AMD’s new X3D CPUs. The Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs are expected to benefit from higher CPU clock speeds and the architectural improvements of Zen 5. This is likely to give AMD’s Zen 5 X3D CPUs a more significant generational leap than their non-X3D counterparts.
If AMD has any additional innovations under wraps with their next-gen X3D technology, the Zen 5 X3D could prove to be an exciting product launch. And as always, while waiting for even more exciting news, remember to utilize our comparison tool to discover the best deal for your next favorite game.
